Prosperity

The abundance of cows and goats owned by a family is a measure of their economic security and social prominence. Herds lie at the heart of the Samburu culture as life revolves around their care. Fabric and beads are traded and often given in friendship, once again, a symbol of friends, family, and good fortune. The baby boy, the most significant and desirable offspring, displays the potency and prosperity of his parents. These are symbols of Prosperity, a portrait of the priorities of life for the profoundly spiritual Samburu people.
